He brings extensive leadership experience in innovation management, intellectual property commercialization, and strategic partnerships. Tamir also serves as Director of the University’s Research Authority, leading both organizations to strengthen the University’s research and innovation ecosystem.

In addition, Tamir sits on the boards of several research institutes at the University of Haifa, contributing to their strategic development and academic impact.
Prior to joining the University, Tamir worked at Elbit Systems, where he gained significant experience in complex technological environments and multidisciplinary project management. At Elbit, he served as a plant manager and later as head of a business domain, leading large operational teams, managing advanced technological portfolios, and overseeing major business development initiatives.
Tamir also played a senior role in managing the Carmel Tunnels Project, contributing to its strategic, operational, and technological execution.
